Digital World FAQ

Since the arrival letter is densely worded to say the least and doesn't quite address all the concerns a person might have about this place, I've decided that a more accessible list of questions and answers is in order. As our young seniors often seem busy, I'll also be more available to answer any new questions based on what I've observed in my time here and gathered from my own conversations with them in the past.
1) So where am I, anyway?
You're in a place called the Digital World that's connected to but separate from other worlds. Yes, that does mean that there are multiple universes out there. There's a good chance that you and your roommates aren't even from the same dimension.
2) Digital means simulation. Does that mean none of this is real?
Not quite. As far as I've been able to gather, this world is somehow a combination of data and matter. As long as you're here, everything is just as capable of affecting you as it would be in your own world.
3) I can't afford this, I have something important to do back home.
As do I, but don't worry too much. According to the original Chosen, the Digital World is capable of returning us to the same moment we left from.
4) There's a monster following me around and claiming we're partners. What's going on?
Listen to that creature. It's your digimon partner, a native of this world and your greatest asset here. If you work as a team, your partner will be able to draw on your strength and become more powerful.
5) I don't need that, I have my own powers.
Unfortunately, that's not the case here. Any superhuman abilities you might have had were lost in the transfer. That applies to technological boosts as well, since all electronics have also ceased functioning.
6) My roommate is claiming to be a robot or reptile. Are they insane?
Not at all. Tying into the former point, anyone with a nonhuman form seems to have been transformed on coming here. Some physical oddities remain, but everyone is more or less human even if they weren't before.
7) I'm supposed to be a robot or reptile. Is there anything I should know about my new body?
Don't forget to eat, drink and bathe. Aside from that, this should answer some of the more important questions.
8) That's all great, but why are we here?
The Digital World is under some sort of threat, and unfortunately doesn't have the best social skills when asking for help. At the moment, we aren't entirely sure what it needs us to do, so I'll update this part as we gather more information.
9) This money isn't going to last forever. What can I do to get more?
The Trailmon will put up job listings at the beginning of most months. If you feel the need, you can sign up for one of those to earn a paycheck. There's also a few odd jobs that sometimes need done if you have the spare time and capabilities. Both can produce quite a bit of money if you're willing to take on a difficult or potentially dangerous job. I'm not certain yet if this still applies.
10) So this has been going on for a while...have I missed anything important?
This should give you the details of the more major events since people started arriving. The only exception being the most recent, which I'll explain a bit later.
11) Is it alright to give my partner a nickname?
That's between you and your partner. However, I will say that it's a fairly common practice here, so they won't be seen as out of place if you do decide to give them one.
12) What about food?
The hospital we're currently using as lodging provides standard meals for us for free as part of our accomodations. There are various other places to eat, but be warned that they do charge.
13) Something weird is going on...
That would be a glitch. They happen from time to time and usually last several days before resolving themselves. So far, we haven't found either a cause or any long-term dangers to them.
14) I need a drink!
That's an understandable reaction after all of this. Unfortunately, this town doesn't seem to have a bar or much beyond the necessities for supporting a population.
15) There's another digimon claiming to be my partner, but I already have one!/How come everyone has two partners but I only have one?
Due to some complicated circumstances, the majority of us have two partners. It does seem, however, that their arrival is staggered. You'll probably find your second partner sooner or later.
16) Why can't my partner evolve a second time? I've seen other people do it.
It's most likely because you don't have your Crest yet. I'm unsure of the mechanics, but they seem to be necessary for reaching the higher stages. Don't worry, the Digital World will present you with it when the time comes.
17) So we're chosen heroes...why are we stuck in a dump like this?
Not intentionally, I assure you. Originally, we had accommodations in a rather prosperous city known as Terminal Tokyo. Unfortunately, a powerful digimon grew irritated with us and destroyed the entire city. This place, Hospitown, is a hastily prepared backup.
18) Who is this digimon? I'll cave his face in!
His name is Jupitermon, but I wouldn't recommend seeking him out at the moment. As his name suggests, he possesses nearly godlike powers over lightning. He's supposedly the most powerful level of digimon, one which very few on our side are capable of matching.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer them, but there are several things we still don't know.
